A Walk On The Farm
Sunday, September 13th, 2026
11am until approximately 1:30pm.
Join Kerry of Strong Roots for a walk on their West Knox County farm, Bluebird Hill, to peruse through pastures and along wood lines to explore the variety of edible, medicinal and otherwise useful plants that grow in our region. This is a casual, conversational teaching style where your questions, commentary and stories are welcomed throughout.
Cost is $30 per person for ages 11 and up. Cash on the day of class is preferred. Please reply to this email or strongrootsresources@gmail.com to reserve your spot.
Feel free to share this information with your family, friends and community groups. Space is limited, so an RSVP is the way to go.
A couple of notes – please be prepared for any variety of weather conditions – we only cancel class if it’s stormy / lightning. Same for bugs and potential itchy things – we mostly follow mowed paths, but the poison ivy is prolific this year. Younger children are welcome, but we ask you to keep them close at all times. Please do not bring your dog, this is a working farm with livestock and protective dogs and donkeys on site. If you have a service dog or any questions about accessibility, please reach out to me first so I can see how to best help.
