Hello!

Thank you for your interest in speaking at a CHEO-sponsored, community program on your area of expertise.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES BEFORE COMPLETING YOUR APPLICATION.

CHEO’s role in the community is to raise awareness, not to promote a specific technique, product or course of action. Please keep this in mind as you prepare your presentation.

The presentation should be informative and inspirational. It should give the attendees a renewed passion to improve their health and lives. If possible, attendee participation is a great way to reinforce what is being presented.  When a person feels connected and engaged, they are more likely to use what they learned to make positive changes.

Our program attendees appreciate informational program handouts (approximately 35-40 copies). You may also bring your business cards, brochures and literature.

When titling your presentation, give it a positive personal feeling. Examples:

*“Heart Health” vs. a better title would be “Love Your Heart: Ticker Tips”

* “Natural Hormonal Balance” vs. a better title would be “One Hot Topic: Hormones”

*“Understanding Your DNA” vs. a better title would be “Why DNA is Not Your Destiny”

The presentation should be approximately 45 to 60 minutes in length with a 15-minute question and answer period at the end.  To help with increasing attendance, we do a door prize(s) drawing which the speaker usually provides.  This can be a service or a product.

To help us increase our attendance, we need some additional information about you, your credentials and your presentation (A bullet list of the key points you will cover).  All of this can be filled in on the application.

If this is the first time you are speaking for us, it would be helpful for our program committee to view a 1–3-minute video of your speaking style.  Perhaps you have a website or social media video you have done. Just provide us with the link.  It is okay if you do not have one.

We also encourage you to use the resources you use to market your business to advertise your presentation.  Please include our website link CHEOKnox.org. This will direct others to information about us and the needed disclaimers.

If you have questions, reach out to a current Board Member or send us an email to admin@cheoknox.org.

Please complete the form below for consideration as a presenter at a CHEO program.
