Speaker Application

Thank you for your interest in speaking at a CHEO sponsored, community program on your area of expertise! PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES BEFORE COMPLETING YOUR APPLICATION.

CHEO’s role in the community is to raise awareness, not to promote a specific technique or course of action.  Please keep this in mind as you prepare your presentation.  Inform and inspire the audience so they naturally follow up with you to learn more.  Our intention is that the attendees leave your presentation with a renewed passion and with simple things they can do to improve their lives.

Please provide us a brief outline about yourself and a bullet point outline of your topic.  If you are unsure of what we are requesting, the application will guide you through the process. This will help us in marketing you on social media, emails, flyers, print publications and our website.  We also encourage you to use the resources you use to market your business to advertise your presentation.  You may refer them to the CHEO website for information!

“Understanding Your DNA” – vs. a better title “Why DNA is not your Destiny”

If you have a 1-3 minute demo video of your speaking style, it will be very helpful to the selection committee.  Please provide the link on your application.

We feel it is beneficial when our attendees get to participate during a presentation.  This is a very important part of the CHEO mindset.  We know that when a person feels connected and engaged, they are more likely to use what they learned to make positive changes.  If possible, please build into your presentation audience participation activities.

Lastly, we ask that your presentation is approximately 45 minutes in length with a 15 minute question and answer session at the end. We have a drawing for a door prize at the end of the program. We would be delighted if you would provide a product or service for the door prize. If you can inform us in advance what the door prize will be, we will include it in our marketing information as an added incentive to boost attendance.

Please bring informational program handouts for attendees (Approximately 35-40 copies).  You may also bring your business cards, brochures and literature.
