Meditation is about becoming familiar with our Mind. The essence of all meditation is Awareness. Until we become familiar with Awareness the more advanced aspects of meditation cannot be practiced in a good way; in a way where we can free ourselves from disturbing thoughts and emotions. Parts of this training can be taken individually or as a whole. The more advanced teachings, towards the end of the training require attendance in the beginning or permission of the Instructor. In this approach there are 4 aspects or levels.
Prasad is the Acupuncturist and Director of the Acupuncture & Awareness Center of Knoxville. Health and wellness have always been his passion and he has been employed in health care since 1980. He has a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Columbia University and is a Registered Nurse. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute, one of the first fully accredited acupuncture schools in the United States. In addition, he is certified in Chinese Herbal Medicine and Zero Balancing. He has practiced and taught yoga and meditation since 1973 and is fully certified by the National Yoga Alliance at the highest level of practice and experience.
His primary interest is to help people achieve optimum levels of health – physically, mentally, energetically, emotionally, and spiritually. All are related. I have educated myself, both formally and through practice, to understand these connections. I believe what is natural and possible is excellent health, a relaxed mind, calm emotions and happiness. His goal is to help people realize and experience this state of enhanced wellness.
There are seven scheduled weekend retreats in this intensive program.
Please know that you can register for any of the first 4 weekends without committing to the entire training. In fact, there is no need to commit to the entire training at all. However, after the first 4 weekends there are prerequites for attendance in weekends 5 thru 7. Also, for people who are interested in or committed to the entire practice, you will have the opportunity to participate in webinars where we can ask our questions and get clear on the subtle aspects of our practice. I think this allows for connection, a feeling of community as well as answering questions in a timely way. There is also the possibility of private interviews.
